CME Group plans to launch Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) futures contracts on October 19, pending regulatory approval. This new move will continue to expand CME Group’s single-asset crypto derivatives portfolio, providing investors with more tools to manage price volatility risks in the cryptocurrency market.
According to the plan, CME Group will offer both standard and Micro contracts for BCH and UNI. For Bitcoin Cash, each standard contract will represent 250 BCH, while the Micro contract will have a size of 25 BCH. For Uniswap, the standard contract will be equivalent to 10,000 UNI and the Micro contract equivalent to 1,000 UNI.
The addition of BCH and UNI will further expand CME Group’s single-asset crypto futures portfolio. Currently, this exchange already offers futures contracts linked to major assets such as Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui.
Giovanni Vicioso, head of CME Group’s crypto products, stated that the crypto market is maturing, and participants need more regulated tools to cope with the price volatility risks of digital assets. According to him, the BCH and UNI futures contracts are designed to increase flexibility and capital efficiency, helping clients manage price risks and access important blockchain networks through CME Group’s regulated and 24/7 operating market.
This move comes as CME Group is intensifying its crypto derivatives activities. In June 2026, CME Group launched a 24/7 crypto futures and options market, allowing investors to trade crypto derivatives continuously instead of relying on traditional trading hours.
In the first weekend after implementing 24/7 trading, CME Group’s crypto futures and options market recorded approximately $50 million in trading value with over 7,200 contracts traded.
According to data released by CME Group, in the first half of 2026, the exchange’s crypto futures and options products achieved an average trading volume of about 279,800 contracts per day, equivalent to a total nominal value of approximately $8.3 billion per day.
CME Group is also aggressively expanding into altcoins by launching more new futures contracts in 2026. The altcoin futures product group added this year alone has generated over $1 billion in nominal trading value.
