Marc Andreessen

Marc Andreessen is the co-founder and general partner of the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. He is an innovator and creator, one of the few pioneers in developing software used by over a billion people, and one of the few to have founded multiple billion-dollar companies.

Marc co-created the highly influential Mosaic internet browser and co-founded Netscape, which was later sold to AOL for 4.2 billion USD. He also co-founded Loudcloud, which became Opsware, sold to Hewlett-Packard for 1.6 billion USD. He served on the board of Hewlett-Packard from 2008 to 2018.

Ben Horowitz is the co-founder and general partner of the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. He is the author of New York Times bestsellers, The Hard Thing About Hard Things and What You Do Is Who You Are. He also created the a16z Cultural Leadership Fund to connect the greatest cultural leaders with the best new technology companies and facilitate more young African Americans entering the tech industry.

Before a16z, Ben was the co-founder and CEO of Opsware (formerly Loudcloud), acquired by Hewlett-Packard for 1.6 billion USD in 2007, and was appointed vice president and general manager of Business Technology Optimization for Software at HP. Previously, he was vice president and general manager of America Online’s E-commerce Platform division, overseeing the development of the company’s flagship Shop @ AOL service.

Ben managed several product divisions at Netscape Communications. He was also vice president of Netscape’s widely used Directory and Security product line. Before joining Netscape in July 1995, he held various senior product marketing positions at Lotus Development Corporation.

Ben holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from UCLA and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Columbia University.
